For the most part, Jill Biden is considered a very modest First Lady. That extends to her fashion choices…for the most part, she makes safe choices for her public outfits. That has helped her avoid any sartorial scandals like Melania Trump faced when the public found out she previously appeared nude in print media.
However, Jill Biden avoiding any Melania-style scandals doesn’t mean she didn’t make any fashion faux pas. Again, Jill Biden has never worn anything in public quite as scandalous as the outfits that helped make Melania Trump such a successful model. However, she has made the occasional questionable fashion choice that really divided the internet. One of the best examples of this occurred in 2021 when she posted a picture of herself on Twitter sporting a scrunchie while picking up some Valentine’s Day sweets for her husband.
Some who saw the photo loved it, saying that Jill was a down-to-earth gal who wasn’t afraid to just pop a scrunchie in her hair and head out the door. Others, however, thought this was a very sloppy look, especially for a wealthy person who just happened to be married to the most powerful man on the planet!

There are a few hard fashion rules that all First Ladies should follow. One of the rules, though, is “never go outside looking like a Disney villain.” Unfortunately, Jill Biden never got that particular memo, and in February 2022, she wore this spotted two-piece outfit to a Black History Month closing ceremony at the White House.
We’ll probably never know exactly what Jill Biden was thinking when she decided to rock this look…if she wanted to stand out from the crowd, this was the perfect way to do it. However, everybody who saw the outfit couldn’t help but think of Dalmations, and this made Jill look like the real-life version of Cruella de Ville. Making matters worse was that she had worn the outfit at least twice before, making it seem like Jill just really loves dressing like a Disney supervillain.
