The couple had been packing on the PDA

Prince Harry has opened up on what it was like to have Meghan Markle attend the 2025 Invictus Games.

The couple had been in Canada together for the last few days for the first ever Winter edition of the Invictus Games, which Prince Harry founded way back in 2014.

And now it’s been revealed how Harry, 40, candidly spoke about having Meghan by his side this year.

While the pair have been there for a good reason, they still seem to have received quite a lot of backlash for their appearance.

One person recently said on X: “Yeah it’s the Harry and Meghan Markle show now. The Invictus athletes are props in the background.”

Another wrote: “Invictus was turned into Meghan Markle’s show.”

To have my wife here supporting me is amazing. I love that she is by my side.

Despite this, it seems they aren’t letting the negativity get to them as Prince Harry has revealed his happiness at having Meghan, 43, with him.

Speaking to People Magazine at the games in Vancouver on February 9, Harry said: “It’s incredible to be back in Canada. Canada couldn’t be more appropriate to host the first Winter Games. Everyone is so excited.”

Canada is the first country to have hosted the games twice. The first was in Toronto in 2017, when Meghan and Harry made their first public appearance. And it’s also where they briefly lived before their move to California. So, it’s no surprise that Harry feels at home there.

Prince Harry gushes over Meghan’s ‘amazing support’ at the games

But it’s having Meghan there that Harry seems to be happy about the most.

He said: “To have my wife here supporting me is amazing. I love that she is by my side. It’s such an important piece to this whole adventure.”

The trip away for the couple has well and truly put those break-up rumours to rest, as they have put on a loved-up display through the whole period.

This was backed up by Harry’s friends and competitors, who also spoke to People Magazine.

His friend said: “It is full of positivity. Harry is walking around with a big smile on his face. And he can’t go very far without being stopped every few seconds. But that’s what it is all about.”

The Sussexes have received backlash after they packed on the PDA at the games. From kissing, cuddling, and sweet whispers, Harry and Meghan proved their love is as strong as ever.

Meghan leaves Invictus Games early after PDA with Harry

Despite having their romance on show, Meghan left the games before it finished, heading back home to California. But it’s believed that Harry will stay until the closing ceremony on Sunday (February 16).

While theories immediately began surfacing as to why she left first, a source close to Invictus confirmed that it was always the plan that Meghan would leave slightly earlier than Harry.

They told HELLO!: “This was always planned. Meghan is going home to be with her children.”

It seems to be keeping with the theme, as the source reminded everyone that the same thing happened last year at the games in Dusseldorf.

They added: “Meghan left the games in Dusseldorf early after five days to go home. This is Prince Harry’s event. And she is there to support him. But this was planned.”

While the couple’s two children, Prince Archie, five, and Princess Lilibet, three, did not join them, Meghan gave fans a glimpse at them cheering on Prince Harry from home.
