Kendrick Lamar, one of hip-hop’s most influential and critically acclaimed artists, has etched his name in Grammy Awards history with an impressive number of wins that surpass even music legends like Eminem and Pharrell Williams. As of the latest ceremony, Lamar has taken home 17 Grammy Awards, cementing his legacy as one of the most decorated hip-hop artists of all time.

All eyes in both sports and entertainment worlds will be focused on New Orleans tonight as on the field Kansas City Chiefs face Philadelphia Eagles with Kendrick Lamar the star attraction for the Halftime Show.

2025 has got off to a more than positive start for rapper Kendrick Lamar. The Compton born bagged five Grammy Awards last week at the ceremony in Los Angeles and is set to perform at the Halftime show at the Super Bowl as the Kansas City Chiefs play the Philadelphia Eagles.

‘The right guy’

After the news broke of his Super Bowl appearance, the hip-hop star stated: ‘Rap music is still the most impactful genre to date. And I’ll be there to remind the world why. They picked the right guy,’ Lamar said after the news broke.

Kendrick Lamar now has 22 total Grammy awards in his career after “Not Like Us” sweeps the #Grammys winning all five categories it was nominated in.

From his diss track to record and song of the year, Kendrick Lamar went home the biggest winner at the 2025 Grammy Awards with “Not Like Us” – which took aim at Drake – earning a total of five wins: song of the year, record of the year, best rap song, best rap performance, and best music video.

The 37-year-old has now bagged 22 Grammy Awards in his career to date and moves into third place in the overall hip-hop stars ranking and only trails Kanye West on 24 with Jay-Z leading the way in the genre on 25.

Lamar now puts distance between himself and other greats in the hip-hop world with the likes of Eminem bagging 15 and Pharrell Williams on 13 career Grammys.
