Michelle Obama Opens Up About Divorce and Freedom in New Podcast

Former First Lady Michelle Obama will talk about divorce, her newfound freedom, and her friendships on a new podcast with her brother, which will air this week.

The New York Times wrote about the podcast IMO, which stands for “in my opinion,” and talked about its first two episodes. The work, a podcast with videos, will be available to everyone on Wednesday.

There is a picture of the former first lady and her brother Craig Robinson, who runs the National Association of Basketball Coaches. The two talk about many things, but they avoid politics and current events and instead focus on lifestyle topics.

That doesn’t mean they don’t talk about tough topics, though. The Times says that they talked about Robinson’s divorce from his first wife, Janis Robinson, in 2000. He got married again in 2006 to his current wife, Kelly McCrum Robinson. He used to coach basketball at a college level. There has been a lot of talk about marital problems between the Obamas as well in recent months.

The paper said that they also talk about Michelle’s marriage to former President Barack Obama and his involvement in politics.

Rumors have been going around about the couple’s marriage for a long time, including that he was seeing actress Jennifer Aniston.

The Friends star denied a romance with Obama on Jimmy Kimmel Live, saying that she has only “met him once.”

“I know Michelle more than him,” she said.

Michelle Obama may talk about her marriage on her new podcast, but she doesn’t want to talk about politics. In her 2018 memoir Becoming, she said she “never wanted to be involved in politics.”

According to The Times, she talks about this with her brother on IMO. Together, they also discuss how hard it was for them to grow up in Chicago, Illinois. They lived together in a city apartment and shared a room.

Obama also says that she has driven again after years of being safe and limited by the Secret Service.

The paper says that hosts “mainly gave advice based on their life experiences” and that the show will eventually have celebrity guests, some of whom were on Obama’s previous show, The Michelle Obama Podcast. There is director Tyler Perry among them, as well as new guests like actors Seth Rogen and Keke Palmer.

They will be joined by writer, actress, and producer Issa Rae on the second episode of the new show. She will talk about keeping up friendships as an adult.

The new show is made by Higher Ground, the Obama family’s media company, and Audible, which is owned by Amazon.

Former President Barack Obama attended a Los Angeles Clippers game courtside on Wednesday—but noticeably without Michelle Obama, further sparking rumors of a coming breakup.

Instead, Obama was seen sitting alongside Clippers owner Steve Ballmer and his wife, Connie Snyder, effectively third-wheeling.

Barack Obama notably attended President Donald Trump’s second inauguration alone in January after Michelle, a vocal critic of Trump, opted to skip the event.

Michelle Obama was also absent from her husband’s side at the funeral for President Jimmy Carter at Washington National Cathedral in D.C., with reports indicating that she chose to stay in Hawaii for an “extended holiday vacation” instead.

Despite ongoing speculation about their relationship, the couple appeared affectionate on Valentine’s Day last month, with both sharing heartfelt messages on social media, The Post noted.

Shortly after Michelle announced her plan to skip Trump’s inauguration, a source familiar with her thoughts said that the former first lady would not want to fake a smile for someone she still views as a threat to American democracy.
