Story Highlights:

Rollins didn’t hold back his admiration for Clark.

Rollins also acknowledged the level of competition and discussion Clark has generated at the top of the women’s game.

As Seth Rollins gears up for one of the most anticipated matches of his WWE career at WrestleMania 41, the Iowa-born superstar took a break from wrestling talk to spotlight a fellow Hawkeye making waves in a different arena—basketball phenom Caitlin Clark.

Rollins on Caitlin Clark’s Phenomenal Rise

During a candid conversation on Outta Pocket with RGIII on Tuesday, Rollins didn’t hold back his admiration for Clark, calling her a game-changer for women’s sports.

“I love Caitlin Clark, man. I love Caitlin Clark,” Rollins said when asked about the buzz around the Iowa basketball sensation.

Rollins continued by praising the former Iowa Hawkeyes standout for breaking barriers and elevating the women’s game, comparing her influence to a basketball legend.

“I love it. I don’t wanna get blasphemous here, but, I mean, it’s Jordanesque. I mean, she’s changed the game. She’s so unassuming, you know. You look at her, you don’t think anything.”

“You don’t think she’s a star. You don’t think she’s gonna just be balling out on everybody. And she does, you know.”

Changing the Landscape of Women’s Sports

He noted how Clark has become a symbol of transformation—not just in the WNBA, but for women’s athletics as a whole.

“And to see what she’s done for women’s sports, you know, obviously, the WNBA specifically, but just women’s sports in general.

Rollins also acknowledged the level of competition and discussion Clark has generated at the top of the women’s game. From Angel Reese to Paige Bueckers, conversations about “who’s next” are now mainstream.

“Even the fact that, like, you get all this conflict at the top in the WNBA now about arguing, like, whether or not it should be her or… is it Angel Reese? Like, who deserves the credit? The fact that we’re even having that conversation, I think, is amazing.”

Iowa’s Pride: “We Ain’t Got Much”

For Rollins, Clark’s success has brought a fresh sense of pride to his home state, which lacks major professional sports franchises.

“And to see what she’s done and the amount of money she’s been able to bring in for the women in sports, I love it.”

“In Iowa, we ain’t got much, man. We ain’t got no sports teams. That’s why I’m a Bears fan. And so to see, like, people rally behind her is so cool.”

 Looking Ahead

As Caitlin Clark embarks on her rookie season in the WNBA, Rollins is excited to see how her journey continues to unfold.

With stars from every industry tipping their hats to her, Clark’s influence continues to grow—both on and off the court.
