Former Pro Bowl Superstar Accuses One NFL Team Of Snubbing Shedeur Sanders Because “They Like White QBs”

A former NFL star has a theory on why one particular team snubbed Shedeur Sanders in the first round of the draft on Thursday night.

Only two quarterbacks heard their names called in the opening round, and the former Colorado star was not one of them.

The Tennessee Titans selected Cam Ward out of Miami, making him the No. 1 overall pick, while the New York Giants picked former Ole Miss signal-caller Jaxson Dart at No. 25 after making a trade.

It appeared that Shedeur might get the nod after the Giants’ trade was announced, but they chose to go with Dart. And, according to former pro wide receiver Roddy White, it’s because the NFC East outfit doesn’t like drafting black QBs in the first round.

“Giants would never pick a black qb in the first round,” he wrote in a tweet. “I don’t think they had a black qb outside of Tyrod Taylor they like white qbs which is why they picked Daniel Jones a couple years back now dart which neither will be any good. Just my opinion.”

Folks weren’t all that high on White’s take and let him know in the comments, with many pointing out that Russell Wilson and Jameis Winston are both on the current roster, although they were signed as free agents and weren’t brought in as first-round picks.

“Ur my goat but no way we gonna forget about Eli manning being the face of the franchise for years,” a user wrote.

“Yeah, they’ve really been shying away from those black QB’s this offseason,” added a second.

It remains to be seen where Shedeur Sanders will end up following his surprising slip, but he’s definitely not going to New York.
