Dr. Oz’s Daughter Speaks Out After Child’s Health Episode In White House

“We are so grateful it was nothing serious, and she bounced right back — with a trip for some delicious Navy Mess soft serve for good measure!!” Oz’s daughter, Daphne Oz, posted on Instagram.

Philomena Jovanovic, 11, fainted at the reception desk Friday, shortly after her grandfather, Dr. Mehmet Oz, was sworn in as administrator of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services by Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. Pholimena’s health crisis forced Trump’s news conference, in which he was highlighting the prospect of Iran acquiring a nuclear weapon, to an unexpected halt.

“Philo fainted, Philo fainted. Dad, go!” presumably one of Oz’s daughters shouted.

The media scrambled as White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt ordered them out of the Oval Office. Daphne Oz could be seen walking Philomena past the Resolute Desk while clutching her jaw before the cameras were switched off.

Daphne, a food writer who co-hosted ABC’s gourmet talk show “The Chew” from 2011 to 2017, commended the White House medical team for caring for her daughter, as well as Trump for lavishing attention on her children.

“Most of all, thank you to President Trump who went out of his way to make both our children feel comfortable in a stressful situation. He was exceedingly warm, caring and generous as he spent personal time with each of them at the Resolute Desk and gifted them treasures to take home,” Daphne wrote. “A more than memorable day at the White House for all of us!!”

Dr. Oz, who aired his namesake syndicated TV show for 13 years before running for Senate in Pennsylvania as a Republican in 2022, would be in charge of the $1.5 trillion budget for government health insurance programs such as Medicaid, Medicare, and the Children’s Health Insurance Program.

Oz lost the Senate election to Democrat John Fetterman, but Trump selected him to lead the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.

On April 3, he was confirmed by 53 to 45 votes in the Senate.

“Thank you to everyone who has checked in on our granddaughter Philomena after her eventful afternoon in the Oval Office. I am grateful to report she recovered quickly and was treated to delicious Navy Mess soft serve and some very special time speaking with President Trump while they explored the treasure drawer of the Resolute Desk together,” Oz posted on X Sunday.

Dr. Oz was not the only new member of the administration named recently.

Trump on Thursday appointed Fox News host Mark Levin and former Fox News contributor Bo Dietl to serve on his Homeland Security Advisory Council.

“I am proud to announce the formation of my revamped Homeland Security Advisory Council (HSAC), which is comprised of Top Experts in their field, who are highly respected by their peers,” Trump noted in a Truth Social post.

He added: “It is a big honor to serve on HSAC, and I know the new Members, South Carolina Governor Henry McMaster, Mark Levin, Bo Dietl, and Joseph Gruters, will do an incredible job. Under Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem’s leadership, HSAC will work hard on developing new Policies and Strategies that will help us secure our Border, deport Illegal Criminal Thugs, stop the flow of Fentanyl and other illegal drugs that are killing our Citizens, and MAKE AMERICA SAFE AGAIN. Congratulations to all!”

Levin, who hosts a weekend program on Fox as well as a daily syndicated radio show, acknowledged the appointment on social media: “What an honor! Thank you, Mr. President!”

Meanwhile, Levin won’t be leaving the airwaves anytime soon, thanks to a major new deal he inked with Cumulus Media in February.
