After her longest break from organized play, Clark unleashed a historic triple-double that’s never been accomplished in a WNBA season opener, leading the Indiana Fever to a massive 35-point victory, destroying the Chicago Sky and putting Angel Reese in her place.
Angel Reese Has Been Accused Of ‘Lying’ About Caitlin Clark
Angel Reese has been accused of “lying” about Caitlin Clark.
The WNBA’s 2025 regular season opened up this weekend. The Indiana Fever took on the Chicago Sky in the first game of their respective seasons. The Fever topped the Sky in a blowout. Caitlin Clark had her third-career triple-double, as the Fever blew out the Sky, 93-58, to improve to 1-0 on the season.
But a moment between Clark and Reese made a lot of headlines.
Clark was hit with a flagrant foul for a foul on Reese. Reese appeared to get away with a shove on Clark’s teammate and Clark fouled her hard, preventing her from going up for a layup.
Things got heated.
There’s clearly some animosity here, at least on Reese’s side. That was a pretty simple foul by Clark. Reese reacted in a pretty extreme way.
However, Reese has previously claimed that there is no “rivalry” between her and Clark.
WNBA fans are accusing Reese of “lying” about her lack of a rivalry with Clark in 2025.
“This isn’t just a basketball rivalry anymore. Angel Reese HATES Caitlin Clark,” one fan wrote.
“After watching Caitlin Clark’s flagrant foul on Angel Reese and the aftermath, there is no way Angel Reese can continue the lie that she doesn’t dislike Caitlin Clark. I know what hatred looks like. Angel Reese HATES Caitlin Clark. Not some basketball rivalry hate either. Hate,” former NFL QB Robert Griffin III wrote.
“But Angel Reese says there’s no rivalry … k,” one fan added.
There’s obviously a rivalry here and that’s OK. It dates back to the 2023 college basketball season, when LSU topped Iowa in the national title game and Reese was taunting Clark all over the floor.
Clark is now getting the best of Reese in the WNBA and the rivalry is continuing to heat up.
Both players could just admit that they’re not the biggest fans of one another.
