On Tuesday, President Donald Trump stated that Los Angeles would be “burning to the ground” had he not deployed National Guard troops to support recent anti-ICE protests.
“If I hadn’t ‘SEND IN THE TROOPS’ to Los Angeles over the past three nights, that once beautiful and great City would be burning to the ground right now, similar to the 25,000 homes that were destroyed in L.A. due to an incompetent Governor and Mayor – Incidentally, the much more challenging, time-consuming, and rigorous FEDERAL PERMITTING PROCESS is nearly complete for these homes, while the straightforward City and State Permits are disastrously mismanaged and WAY BEHIND SCHEDULE! They are a complete disaster, and this situation will persist for a long time. People wish to rebuild their homes. Contact your incompetent Governor and Mayor, the Federal permitting is FINISHED!!!” Trump expressed.
The Department of Homeland Security is disclosing information regarding over a dozen illegal immigrant individuals believed to have committed crimes in the United States, who were apprehended in Los Angeles starting June 6.
DHS released the suspect details following violent incidents in Downtown LA over the weekend, which were a reaction to the ICE raids that led to “hundreds of illegal aliens [being] arrested by ICE officers and agents,” including “many with a criminal history and criminal convictions.”
The agency provided additional details about 19 individuals apprehended by ICE Los Angeles on June 7, suspected of crimes ranging from robbery to second-degree murder to rape.
“America’s courageous ICE officers are taking the most dangerous individuals off the streets of Los Angeles, while the city’s leaders are tirelessly opposing their efforts,” stated the Department of Homeland Security as protests persisted throughout the weekend.
Sheriff Chad Bianco from Riverside County remarked that the agitators “are not engaging in protests” and criticized California’s Democratic Governor Gavin Newsom for failing to take necessary measures.
“They are attempting to exert violent influence through political means. This is precisely what this situation entails. It contradicts everything the Constitution represents,” Bianco, a Republican candidate for governor, stated.
“Governor Newsom ought to put down his phone, remain in his home behind the comfort of his television and couch, and refrain from speaking, as he is merely exacerbating this situation. He should allow law enforcement to operate without interference. He possesses no understanding of this matter. He is completely ignorant of law enforcement, harbors disdain for it, and has actively encouraged this behavior,” the sheriff concluded.
