Trump made these remarks on his personal Truth Social account on Tuesday morning, subsequently criticizing California’s Democratic Governor Gavin Newsom and Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass for their management of the ongoing wildfires.
“If I hadn’t ‘SEND IN THE TROOPS’ to Los Angeles over the past three nights, that once beautiful and great City would be burning to the ground right now, similar to the 25,000 homes that were destroyed in L.A. due to an incompetent Governor and Mayor – Incidentally, the much more challenging, time-consuming, and rigorous FEDERAL PERMITTING PROCESS is nearly complete for these homes, while the straightforward City and State Permits are disastrously mismanaged and WAY BEHIND SCHEDULE! They are a complete disaster, and this situation will persist for a considerable time. People wish to rebuild their homes. Contact your incompetent Governor and Mayor, the Federal permitting is FINISHED!!!” Trump stated.
The Department of Homeland Security is disclosing information regarding over a dozen illegal immigrant individuals suspected of crimes in the United States who were apprehended in Los Angeles starting June 6.
DHS released the suspect details following violent incidents in Downtown LA over the weekend, which were a reaction to the ICE raids that led to “hundreds of illegal aliens [being] arrested by ICE officers and agents,” including “many with a criminal history and criminal convictions.”
The agency provided additional information about 19 individuals apprehended by ICE Los Angeles on June 7, suspected of crimes ranging from robbery to second-degree murder to rape.
“America’s courageous ICE officers are removing the most dangerous individuals from LA’s streets, while LA’s leaders are working diligently against them,” DHS stated as riots persisted throughout the weekend.
“They are attempting to exert violent influence through political means. This is precisely what this situation entails. It contradicts the very principles upheld by the Constitution,” stated Bianco, a Republican candidate for governor.
“Governor Newsom ought to set aside his phone, retreat to his home where he can relax in front of his television and couch, and refrain from speaking, as he is merely exacerbating this situation. He should refrain from interfering with law enforcement. He possesses no knowledge regarding this matter. He is entirely ignorant of law enforcement practices. He has a disdain for law enforcement and has actively encouraged this behavior,” the sheriff remarked.
